2024: Sourcing and IT growth in Spain

Bytym 11/11/202412/12/2024

According to the latest report on sourcing of IT services elaborated by the consulting firm Eraneos and Whitelane Research, in 2024 companies in Spain will invest a total of 53.1 billion euros in IT, which represents an increase of 4% compared to 2023. This growth is largely driven by demand for outsourced services, which is expected to reach €24.16 billion this year, almost half of total IT investment.

Investing in IT Services: A Growing Sector

Three hundred executives from the largest Spanish companies in terms of IT spending and investment participated in the report, which is based on the analysis of 900 IT outsourcing contracts and 750 cloud contracts. As a result, 43% of the companies plan to increase their spending on IT services, while 31% plan no change and 13% plan to reduce their budget, marking the highest percentage recorded to date.

Outsourcing within Spain also shows a positive trend, with 27% of companies planning to increase this delivery model and only 6% planning to reduce it. With the growth in demand for nearshore options in Northern and Central Europe, Spain becomes an attractive competitor thanks to more competitive costs, growth in the IT sector and high-quality professionals.

In conclusion, the sourcing overview of IT services in Spain reflects the acceleration of digital transformation, driven both by the need for greater security and automation and by the search for flexibility and control in solutions. With the increase in technological investment, 2024 is set to be a year of consolidation for the digital infrastructure of companies in our country.
